Mutual interaction of multiple cracks growing in the particulate composite with brittle matrix under conditions of sub-critical crack growth
Slávik, Ondrej ; Ševeček, Oldřich (referee) ; Majer, Zdeněk (advisor)
In the first part of the submitted diploma thesis, the knowledge in the sphere of the fracture mechanics, related to the practice part of this thesis are summarized. In that the 2D parametrical numerical model of the particle composite with multiple cracks was created, using the finite elements method. Thanks to this model it is possible to find specific configurations which are showing the existance of multiple mutual interactions between these cracks, just by simple manipulation of the input data. In the calculations the influence of the residual stresses was considered which are formed during production of the material. The effect of the subcritical crack growth was taken into account as well in this thesis.
Foreign direct investment in the Czech Republic
Vrtal, Vojtěch ; Novák, Jaroslav (referee) ; Vaňková, Lucie (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is a definition of regional development and foreign direct investments. The practical part deals with an analysis of foreign investments in individual regions of the Czech Republic and monitors years 2010-2020. It also examines the impact on regions and the development of living standards. As an example of foreign direct investment in the Czech Republic is used a company BOSCH DIESEL, s.r.o.. Thesis focuses on one specific investment and examines its impact on the development of the Vysočina Region, more precisely of Jihlava District.
Study of aerobic cultivation conditions with select strain of Lactobacillus
Šupinová, Petra ; Burdychová, Radka (referee) ; Babák, Libor (advisor)
The aim of this study was focused on the study of conditions of growth of strains Lbc. paracasei subsp. paracasei CCDM 211, Lbc. paracasei CCDM 212, Lbc. paracasei subsp. paracasei CCDM 213 and Lbc. salivarius CCDM 216 in media with different amount of carbon-source (glucose, lactose and whey). Next part of the experiment was dealed with study of conditions of bacteria growth at stress conditions (lower pH). The purity od bacterial culture was verified with help of streaking. Purity DNA isolated from bacteria was tested using agarose gel electrophoresis, DNA concentration was estimated spectrophotometricaly. The presence of bacteria of genus Lactobacillus was proved using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with genus specific primers.

Assessing the contribution of bioeconomy to the economic growth and development of Ghana: analysis of the fishery industry
Omari, Frank Agyekum
The concept of bioeconomy and its importance in achieving economic growth while protecting the environment has gained significant attention on the research and policy front in recent years. The fisheries sector in Ghana is economically important and provides employment opportunities, but there is a lack of understanding on how to effectively adopt the bioeconomy paradigm in the sector. This study aims to identify the key factors such as employee motivation, research and innovation, knowledge and skills, regulatory quality, and the production process quality facilitating bioeconomy transition. The scope of the study focuses on exploring the nature of bioeconomy in Ghana in general and the contribution of bioeconomy to the growth of the economy and the development of Ghana. The research methodology relied on both primary and secondary data source and the study sample consisted of management and staff in the fishery sector. Utilizing structural equation modeling (SEM), SMARTPLS 4 software was employed to examine the data. Findings of this study revealed that, key drivers such as motivation of employees, knowledge and skills, research and innovation, regulatory quality, and the quality of the production process all tested significant to the dependent variable of organizational performance. The study provides significant findings regarding the factors, challenges, and approaches involved in the successful implementation of bioeconomy in Ghana’s fisheries industry. Based on the findings, important actions to enable a seamless transition include the implementation of strong financial mechanisms, formulation of supportive policy frameworks, and promoting research and development initiatives.
Struktura sukcesních porostů a růstové vlastnosti břízy bělokoré (Betula pendula Roth) na exponovaném stanovišti
Bardoň, Karel
This bachelor’s thesis describes the structure of naturally occurring stands dominated by white birch (Betula Pendula Roth) on two exposed sites. The site marked as "Hlubočec" represents the situation of the Nizký Jeseník, the site marked as "Krásná" the situation of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy. Both areas have been inventorised and described in terms of the growth potential of birch as well as the current presence of other tree species, including the so-called target species in the case of "Hlubočec". The growing potential was, as expected, in the more trophic site of Hlubočec. Here, there are target individuals of grown out European beech and forest oak, as well as relatively abundant occurrences of natural regeneration of Norway spruce, white birch, and occasionally also bird crane and European beech. The 'Krásná' site represents an area that has been neglected in the past, affected by erosion and degradation, where the birch tree mainly serves the function of soil protection and habitat restoration.
Intrauterinní růstová retardace selat
Kršová, Eliška
This bachelor's thesis focuses on intrauterine growth restriction of piglets. The first part of the thesis deals with sow hybridization, the creation of super-fertile sow lines, and how breeding can affect litter size. The second part focuses on the issues of highly fertile sows, particularly in terms of nutrition, housing, delivery, lactation, weaning, and preparation for the next pregnancy. The third part focuses on intrauterine growth restriction of piglets. This section describes what this condition means and what can influence it. The fourth part deals with problems in piglets with intrauterine growth restriction. Methods for the application of artificial milk, the use of surrogate sows, or split nursing are described here.
